Experiment Check-in

Today marks six weeks since the start of my latest experiment, in which I get a push notification if no post is queued up for the next publish date. So far, this is working just as I had expected. For the first several days, I had the job configured to notify me when it ran, which was to confirm everything was configured as I wanted it. That notification was great for the first couple of days, then it became annoying. I have since turned off the daily notification. Now I only receive notifications to write every day when the queue is empty. While I am not working on a series of posts, I tend to get lazy and wait for the idea to strike me, instead of actively seeking an idea for the next post. Now, as I see the notification, I reflect on the day, looking for a post from that day.
Currently, the notification will be sent only if the queue is empty. In a future iteration, I intend to add some logic to the job, indicating on a red/yellow/green scale how many posts I have in the pipeline. With a deeper queue of posts, I can give myself some breathing room for the longer format content.
